I think that “Understanding Your Digital SLR” may be a little tricky to those that have no clue as to what a SLR even is, but “Understanding Your Digital Camera” also seems to me as an understatement. Those might feel that a ‘digital camera’ may be those that you just grap as a snap and shoot, therefore this is not the case. How about “Understanding Your Digital SLR Camera”? or something of that nature? Just a few thoughts…!

My take is, if you don’t know what a SLR is then the dvd is probably not for you. People who have an interest in photography and are looking to take better pictures either have an SLR or aspire to have one, I think. So my vote is for the original title! (oh, and I’m a parent & aspiring photographer!)

I prefer DSLR. I hope it is not just a simple how to use your digital camera because I feel that DSLRs are so much different from point and shoots and most parent’s own P&S.

I am a beginner and took a class on digital photography and the class was 1/2 DSLRs and 1/2 P&S and I swear the P&S did not get their money’s worth. Their cameras didn’t even have most of the features that were on DSLRs. All it did was make them want a DSLR. I realize some P&S do have the features, but most parents don’t have those.

Definitely use DSLR in the title.

I agree, I think that “Understanding your Digital SLR camera” works well, and handles the problem of not scaring away people who don’t yet feel comfortable with the term “SLR”.

Also, if you are hoping to still reach “P&S” users too, you may want to leave SLR out of the title.

either way, can’t wait to see it ! hang in there ! sounds like you are getting to the home stretch !
