He’s Been Awake All Night! Brian is the Hero of Our New Website!

Me Ra Koh

How many bugs can one encounter when launching a new website? 🙂 We must admit that this type of site is not like a photography portfolio type website. It’s so intense on how the site processes orders, verifies credit card info, does product comparisons, customer reviews, gives downloads of each 101 kit, and gift certificate options. Oprah, we’re ready!! 🙂

But at 2am this morning, I had to stop working on the bugs and head to bed. When I woke up this morning, Brian wasn’t next to me. He WAS STILL GOING!! Even now, he is STILL GOING! Can you believe this man! He never went to sleep last night! He’s AMAZING!!

Because of Brian, and only Brian, www.refusetosaycheese.com is live!!

We’re super excited about 4 of our 101 Kits being ready! And the great thing is they are all downloads! Again, Brian blows me away and how he took what I wrote and configured them!

And to top it all off, he was working out bugs the night before until 5:15am! This means he has slept only 2 hours in the last 48 hours. Unreal! The kids can’t stop talking about how amazing dad is, even now we are writing ballads and singing his praise!

The Refuse to Say Cheese website went live this morning, but we were still having shipping errors and credit card processing issues. Even now, the Workshop page is working but not looking “just right”. So me being a total coward…couldn’t bear to check my email and the blog. I turned on Nora Jones instead and tried take a few deep breaths while Brian kept going. “Sunrise, Sunrise…” 🙂

Brian sighed with a smile, and it looks like we’re running okay! YEAH!! Orders are coming in without problems. But definitely email us (brian@fioria.us) if you are having a problem. You’re the first to see this which means your the first to see it AND the lucky first ones who get to encounter any bugs we missed. 🙂

So all this to say, I jumped on the blog and was blown away by all your wonderful posts. I totally started to cry. Thank you so very much for all your feedback! I can’t tell you how much it means! We’ve been working on the look and feel for months, and your feedback and excitement brings me to tears.

You all rock!

    Me Ra,

Poor Brian! He definitely doesn’t get the credit he deserves! Everything looks great Brian…we never forget about you. 😉
Congratulations again to the both of you on the new site, it so amazing and look so beautiful. You two are more than inspirational! =)
K, Brian, now go to bed. 😉

  2. Me Ra says:

Thanks Liza! You are so sweet! I think he’s to tired to go to bed, and he’s still finding little things he wants to make better. And he says I can be the perfectionist…but I’m not complaining! 🙂

Did you get your orders to work for you? I think we fixed the problem you were having. Or was it a different Liza? 😉

  3. Liza says:

I am actually in the middle of the order now…thank you so much!

  4. Wendy says:

Here is a funny for you Me Ra and Brian. I was on so early in the start up process that the first time I didn’t get some images and things looked funky and when I tried to order, it said that it wouldn’t ship to me. So-I know-patience is not a virtue of mine when it comes to something so great!!—I called the customer service contact and got your sweet lady taking care of the shipping end of this ordeal. She didn’t know why it said I can’t ship to you-she has shipped to Woodbridge before and then she went on to say–Me Ra has my phone number on there already???? We giggled about that and then I said, don’t worry I think it was a kink and I will try again tomorrow. Anyway, she was very sweet. I should’ve told her “you better get your shipping boxes ready”!!! Way to go you two.

    Me Ra & Brian ~

What an awesome job! I am on my lunch break at work and I had to check out the website. It looks great! My DVD 2 should be arriving any day and now I have something else to put on my Christmas list. That Portrait 101 kit is calling my name. 🙂

  6. Brian and Me Ra,
WOW!! I love the site!! How exciting. Once again, I’m thrilled for you both. Let me know if you need a planner in SF because I would love to help and give my wife the workshop as a gift. An Inn up in Sonoma? Photoshoot at Stinson Beach? Dinner at an old English Pub? Images at a Women Owned Horse Ranch? Many Options…

    Get some zzzzzzzzz’s Brian

    Congrats again,

    Garrett

  7. Susanne says:

    Hi Me Ra!
It was nice talking to you today!! I forgot to ask, you if there was a way to get a discount for the San Diego Workshop with my order since I ordered DVD 2 at the same time? If it is not possible, no worries, I did not want to take the risk of only ordering the dvd to get the code and then ordering the workshop and not getting in.

    Your website btw, is AWESOME!!
Me Ra, you inspire the photographer in me and I cannot to start my business and can’t wait to meet you!

    Thank you soooo much,
    Susanne

    Brian’s a stud!

  10. Thanks for pulling an all-nighter Brian, your amazing! It’s at times like these that conjure up the sentiment “Your the wind beneeth my wings” yes, I’m corny, but it seems so true with the two of you. Way to go! Everything looks great and the kinks will get figured out in time. I’ve got my eye on the 101 kits for sure! Anymore thoughts about Oregon being one of the 8. Did you get the B&B info I sent? Get some rest, if you can.

  11. OMG.
I am literally in tears out of gratitude. Though we have yet to ever meet (We live like, blocks from each other, I believe) you have been an utter inspiration for me to jump in and be the photographer I always wanted to be. Between you and Glen Johnson of Aperture Photographics in Oregon, I feel utterly looked out for as a beginning businesswoman in wedding and portrait photography. I’ll be downloading soon…

Thanks for you two doing this, all this, for all of us.

    Christina

  15. Me Ra says:

Brian just came up for air to read some of your posts today. You have no idea how much you gave to him with all that you’ve written here! Thanks so much!

He is all of the above:
    Wind Beneath My Wings
    Rock Star
    Stud
and yet he can still make me fiery in two seconds flat! Amazingly enough, wiht how tired he is, can you believe we haven’t had a single fight yet!!!! Knock on wood!

I can’t wait for us to figure out why certain pages aren’t showing our design. I guess we can only get better!

Now to get the Five Finalists up for the Thankful Contest! Wait till you see!

And ohhhh, I’m so glad you guys are liking the 101 series! Another baby we’ve been working on, and I’m so glad it’s fitting a niche for so many of you!

  16. I just visited the website and it looks amazing! Kudos to you both!

I can’t wait to start using the 101 kits I ordered during the advanced workshop. I’ve been anxiosly awaiting their arrival. You don’t do anything half way, so I have no doubt that they will be an outstanding resource as I continue to grow my business.

Hope you have a great launch day!

  24. Mera & Brian,

I didn’t know where to send this little note so I just picked a spot on the blog. 🙂 I bought your 2 DVDs in July ’08 and loved them. Then God started speaking to me about taking my love for photography further. So I bought your portrait kit. Well, a few months have gone buy and I’ve read everything on your blog. I’ve been slowly shooting people over the last few months and on Monday I feel like I really broke through from insecure newbie to having some confidence. Thank you so much for sharing not only the technical aspects of photography & photo-coaching but also for addressing the lack of confidence many of us newbies feel. I am enjoying the growth process and learning curve so much. I know that God led me to your blog and has used it as a tool to reveal His will for my life. Thanks again for your generosity.
