So here it goes again! ;)I took a day trip to Hood River Oregon a couple years ago and loved it. The drive was nice and not too long. The town is right on the river and is full of cute shops, resturants, coffee/tea's shops, and a few breweries. It's a real cool almost surfer feel town with a BEATUIFUL view of Mt hood. They have a couple local wineries but the coolest part is the windsurfers! The river is full of them. It's right behind Alpental Ski Resort (snoqualmie pass). You can come back and go to Snoqualmie Falls and walk down to the bottom, grab an icecream cone and have a great dinner there overlooking the falls.I second (or third) the idea about the SanJuan islands. Even if you go by ferry, the ferry ride itself can be snuggly and romantic. There are wineries on SanJuan island too. Take your bikes, ride around, or do the kayaking thing. All fun.
