Top 12 Reasons for a Husband to Send His Wife to a CONFIDENCE Photography Wkshp! (brought to you by Brian and Jeramy)

Me Ra Koh

Last week one of our blog readers commented how she really wanted to come to a CONFIDENCE Workshop. But her husband had concerns about the cost, especially since she doesn’t have a photography business.

“It is just an hour away…but I can’t seem to convince hubby to pony up the money…he is the greatest husband, father, and provider for our family and I understand his concern, it’s big bucks-especially when you don’t have a photography business in place to theoretically “recoup” the costs-but I feel like it is too big of an opportunity to pass up. I mean…hello, Me Ra and Brian, in our neck of the woods?! Heck yeah! Does anyone have any tips for convincing a reluctant (Husband) to take the plunge??? (Or rather, to let his wife take the plunge)”

Soon after a number of other women chimed in with the same request-“Tell us how to convince our hubbies!”

Never fear ladies, Brian and Jeramy are HERE!

Here are the TOP 12 Reasons for a Husband to send his wife to a Me Ra Koh CONFIDENCE Workshop. Yes, I’m taking this seriously ladies. I recruited the big gun, our famous male token blog commenter, Jeramy. Let me say his reasons are all authentic, drawing from his own experience of sending his wife TWICE! Feel free to print and share with your hubbies.

  1. When your wife gets home from the weekend, it will be tough for her to be angry about the “honey do’s” that you still HAVEN’T done yet. (Jeramy)
  2. Pizza rolls and cool-aid are finally appropriate food choices for the kids for once in their life. Whatever is easiest. Just as long as your kids know YOU ARE the MAN! (oh, and did I mention, Movie Night, Every Night?) (Brian and Jeramy)
  3. When your wife gets home, she can explain what ‘f-stop’ means. (Jeramy)
  4. Divorce attorney’s cost WAY more than the workshop does. (Jeramy)
  5. As a husband, you’ll get entry to “Brian’s secret pub crawl” before the meet and greet. (Jeramy)
  6. Your wife will sing your praises for the next 6 months minimum. (If you’re really creative about how you surprise her, it could be praises for over a year! Being creative with the whole surprise part is KEY. Just as Wendy Z. from Sonoma’s wkshp!) (Brian)
  7. You get to find out if Brian Koh really DOES know how to use a camera (Jeramy)
  8. If your wife has talked to you about her five love languages, and you can only seem to express one…never fear, the workshop is guaranteed to express all five for YOU. (Man, we make you look good!) (Brian)
  9. After your wife attends the workshop, it won’t seem so weird that you comment on MeRa’s blog every day. (this was obviously Jeramy’s)
  10. Your wife will use 9,987 of her 10,000 words per day AT the CONFIDENCE workshop. (Jeramy)
  11. If she cries that weekend, dude, it won’t be YOUR fault for once. (Brian)

AND NUMBER 12! The VERY BEST REASON FOR SENDING YOUR WIFE TO THE CONFIDENCE WORKSHOP!

12. You will have a winning answer for her TRICK question “Honey, what do you think about my photography?” Instead of being the deer in the headlights (because there is no right answer) You can say with CONFIDENCE 🙂 “Uhh? Well? Uh? What do those 15 other women from your workshop say? I think you’re AWESOME!” (Brian)

Today’s Contest!

If you’re a husband, and you have a reason why your wife should attend Me Ra’s CONFIDENCE Workshop, Jeramy and I are asking for you to post your reason in the comments below.

The funniest TWO will get a $20 gift certificate to iTunes or Starbucks, your choice. Jeramy and Brian will be the honorable judges. Make sure you include an email or someway to send you the prize. Winners will be announced this week!
(Women with ideas for their husbands are also eligible.)

So please, help us make our list complete!

this is blog post GOLD! GOLD i tell you!

  2. Me Ra Koh says:

Yep Jeramy, I think you two hit it out of the ball park on this one. Some of them made me laugh SO HARD!

  3. Wendy says:

OMG! Totally funny! Thanks for the reminder of that great night that MeRa called me. Oh, I was so mad at my camera when the phone rang! Anyway, I completely agree with all 12 reasons, but you forgot the most important one, well most important to men…or maybe it is hidden in your masterful words…a “payback” contract?? I know, I know… this is a family blog:)

  4. Michelle says:

I cannot stop laughing! Where was this a couple of years ago when I was trying to convince my husband I NEEDED the workshop???? =)

GREAT JOB guys on the top 12. You should send it in to Letterman! =)

    My personal favorite is #11!

WENDY! You are too funny! That would be the “no headache” clause! LOL

  5. Ken says:

I’d let my wife attend the CONFIDENCE workshop so …
I would have a chance to be in more than one or two family pictures per year. 🙂

  6. Mike says:

This is a great list. You guys have done well. I remember when my wife (Cathy) was going back and forth on if she should go to San Fran for the workshop there, a lot of $$ questions came up, can she get it back, am I good enough etc. I feel like at the time that I pushed her to go, she needed that extra push to get going with something that she loved. But, I do have a few things to say about your list…
1 – Cathy always seems to find something to be angry about with the “honey do list” that I always have. I even do it, but I do it wrong! I can’t win!
2 – You forgot donuts for breakfast and popcorn with Mt. Dew for a snack!
3 – But can they explain it to where I will remember?
4 – So true, but this is where the money comes back into the picture…need to have it to be able to afford the big attorney’s that are wives will want. Men can’t win with this one!
5 – Brian, Cathy told me that we are very similar, so I would love to go on the pub crawl!
6 – This might be a stretch. They will sing the praises of the workshop, I know that is true, but singing our praises. We know that does not happen much longer than a week if we are lucky. They would much rather talk about who they saw, got to meet, what they learned and of course show off the images!
7 – I think that we already know the answer to that question! Why do you think this is MeRa’s workshop!?!?
8 – Five? Is this like the Friends episode where Monica is trying to show Chandler the 7 erotic zones and he has no clue that there were 7?
9 – If I don’t read MeRa’s blog every day I will not understand a word that comes out of my wife’s mouth! She reads it like it is a bible!
10 – Now this one I can get behind! Nice job Jeramy!
11 – Wait a minute…it is my fault if she cries? That explains so much!
12 – I can’t even come up with a smart answer to this one. I already love my wife’s photography. She needed that extra push to let others see her incredible work, MeRa’s workshop in San Fran did that!

For the other husbands out there, these are great workshops! If I could send my wife to every worshop, I would! She has learned so much from everyone that attended the workshop and for that, she has become a better photographer and a better person.

The money will come back some way, the workshops might not. Let them go!

And right now is a perfect time of year…FOOTBALL season! You can sit on your couch for two days and watch football all day! And no one will say anything about it! (sorry for the long comment!)

  7. Me Ra Koh says:

Mike, that is freaking HILARIOUS!! I am CRYING, I am laughing so hard-literally tears rolling down my face with a cramp in my side bc I can’t stop laughing! That was AWESOME!! Brian and Jeramy, you have found a kindred spirit (or whatever guys call it).

  8. Cathy says:

I have no words. 🙂 Ladies, am I a lucky girl or what?!

  9. jeramy says:

mike…you’re the man. quote of the day…

“…The money will come back some way, the workshops might not….”

  10. Brian says:

    Mike,
Where have you been? I feel like Jeramy and I have been missing a friend. Besides the crack suggesting I can’t take pictures, that was hilarious!
Me Ra and I were cracking UP!

    Cathy,
You’re a lucky lady! And can I say, “WOW!” Great photos and blog!

  11. Kari says:

#10 is PRICELESS! Oh, man, LOL. So true, so true…

  12. Jim Collins says:

I guess I was unaware that I have a choice.

If my wife wants to go to something she goes. I want you to put up the list of 12 things I need to do to get the choice back. I’m kind of jealous of the guys who have choice. I guess. But if I did, then she’d be looking for 10 reasons why she should be able to do something that I would actually want her to do anyway …

My way is easier. (Uh – I guess, her way is easier!)

    Always love this blog.

    Onward!

    JC

  13. Me Ra Koh says:

You got to love it when JC (aka, CEO of Pictage) chimes in about being a husband! Jim, you crack me up b/c your right. None of you husbands have a choice, it’s just an illusion that we feed you. 🙂

And Jim, you must add how many years you’ve been married so that the other guys know how long it takes to figure this kind of wisdom out. 🙂

  14. Brian says:

    La lalalalalalal…I’M NOT LISTENING!

  15. Mike says:

Not listening either…and if it is an illusion that you are feeding us…I beg to differ. That would mean that you need to be in the kitchen cooking!

OK…before I find myself eating the donuts and popcorn that I was talking about earlier, I will go back to being the good “yes dear, I think that sounds great” husband!

  16. Sharon says:

THIS IS KILLING ME! Jeramy was cracking himself UP over this last night! It was funny!!

I can’t believe my kids ate pizza rolls and kool-aid while I was gone!!! ;-D

  17. jeramy says:

oh babe….i didn’t REALLY feed them pizza rolls….(nervously) you know this was just fun right…for the bloggy blog….you know???? you’re not mad are you? hun? babe? hello? (crickets…)

  18. Jen says:

My husband is just happy he doesn’t have to think of any gifts to get me for the next two years;-)

  19. Melanie says:

such a funny post!!! loved it! makes me want to go to another workshop. 🙂

  20. Anne says:

I so want to do this! But hubby just got me a MacBook last week. How can I ask for more?

#2: If you want husband of the year award you will let me go!

  24. Tobias says:

My wife attended one of Me Ra’s workshops earlier this year. I really thought it would be a one-off event where she learned a few things about photography and had an enjoyable weekend away. Needless to say, I totally underestimated the impact of these two days. She came back TRANSFORMED. She came back with an ignited passion for developing herself professionally and building a successful business. We’re now about nine months into it, and I’ve honestly never seen her happier. Thanks Me Ra.

If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
