So just yesterday I did an experiment to get better shots, and it worked! I wrote a blog post describing in detail what I did here: http://laughlovecreate.wordpress.com/2009/12/30/photography-experiment-snow/I found that on cloudy days I need to overexpose the shot, at least according to my camera's light meter. On days when I don't have that bright blue sky in the background I can still see the smiles on my kids' faces! I have had trouble with portrait photos in the snow being too dark. I tried so hard yesterday... changing my settings all around... staying out of the green box.... trying to challenge myself... hahaha... I'll totally keep practicing. :)Your photos of ski school... We got 20 inches of snow, possibly more, last week. Its been so long since we had a white Christmas. it was beautiful!! the day after, it rained and the snow is all gone. i did get my girls out before the snow disappeared and practiced your tips =) Thank you!!! we are no longer snowed in..
