Giving to Your Create Spirit

I signed myself up this week for either a painting or piano class that will start in February.  The art school said I can think about which class I want to do over the holidays, but I knew I needed to put my deposit down before holiday shopping and just DO THIS FOR ME.  It isn’t by chance that we are holding January and February workshops.  It’s because of my own deep need to start a new year giving to my creative self.  Our creative tanks can so easily run on empty–especially after the holidays!  And I’m excited to start 2013 with dedicated time to being inspired.  I don’t ever plan to be a painter or pianist at all, but there is something about making time to have a creative practice that creates room to breathe in other parts of our life where we feel little or no room for error.  Does that make sense?  We almost need a space to be messy and make mistakes–experiment, stretch and grow–because it creates oxygen in all the other parts of our life.
