7 Tips with Exact Camera Settings for Firework Photos!

Me Ra Koh

Here are the camera settings for firework photos that Me Ra Koh used for getting her 4th of July shots!

Camera Settings

ISO 100, f/4.0, 4 sec exposure / Sony a7 camera body & FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA

I told the kids that I like this one because it reminds me of what Brian’s brain must look like on the inside.  🙂

Tip 3: Experiment with When You Take the Shot.

The best part of taking firework photos is that the whole thing is one big experiment.  You see that tiny light go soaring up into the night’s sky, and you take the shot.  The next time you decide to wait until the fireworks have already exploded.  By waiting, you see more of a trail of light like this image.  There isn’t any right or wrong but just having fun!  You can even experiment with a time lapse of the fireworks!  Check out Brian’s post on how to capture a time lapse of fireworks here!
